A protein shake, a day pass, a branded T-shirt — every gym sells something besides the membership. The difference between a side hustle that quietly leaks money and a real revenue line is whether the sale ever touches the same system that runs the rest of the gym.
For one month a year, everything you know about your gym’s peak hours becomes wrong. The floor empties in daylight and fills near midnight, and a timetable built on eleven months of habit suddenly stops working. Gyms that lose money in Ramadan rarely lose it because of the month — they lose it because they ran the rest of the year’s schedule inside it.

Every new gym owner searches for a free system, and in a month when every riyal is committed to equipment and rent that is an entirely rational search. The question is not whether free is bad. It is: what does the provider take instead of your money?
